Aryaka Networks aims to target more businesses with a new offering of managed secure access service edge (SASE) and improved, lower cost SD-WAN offerings. On the same subject : Spending on Managed Services, Especially Security, To Inch Up in 2022.

Aryaka is known for offering WAN and SD-WAN services through its global network Layer 2 with over 40 points of presence. The new services spring from that backbone to provide additional, flexible WAN services.

The first is based on a new iteration of Aryaka’s L2 core – the L3 – which is optimized for cost-effective and non-mission critical applications or websites that do not require the highest performance. The L2 core is optimized for performance-sensitive applications.

Customers now have the option to use L3 for more traditional SD-WAN / Internet connectivity, and users can mix and match services on the two cores as needed with a new service called Aryaka FlexCore, according to David Ginsburg, product marketing manager with Aryaka.

“Because we now have two levels to offer customers, it gives them flexibility to deal with changes in application and connectivity requirements that we didn’t offer before,” Ginsburg said.

Along with Flexcore, Aryaka has also added an app monitoring capability called AppAssure, which enables customers to manage application profiles and efficiency, Ginsburg said.

For customers looking to quickly deploy a SASE environment, Aryaka has introduced Prime EZ, which currently uses the L3 core and includes a new secure network gateway, firewall as a service, site filtering and threat protection, Ginsburg said. The security features in the Aryaka offering come from its acquisition of Secucloud in May and the company also has partnerships with Check Point and Palo Alto Networks for other security features.

Prime EZ is targeting small to medium-sized businesses, but a more advanced SASE offering called Smartconnect Pro, which will use the company’s L2 core, will emerge, the company stated. This service will target medium-sized enterprises that require a high-performance network and global application predictability, the company said.

In addition, Ayaka has launched a SmartConnect EZ managed SD-WAN service for small to medium enterprises. It also uses the L3 core to offer flexible connectivity capabilities and the ability to upgrade to Prime EZ or SmartConnect Pro if necessary.

In addition to the technology, Aryaka has launched what it has called T-shirt consumer price models that will standardize its quote, bandwidth, service leveling and deployment model, the company said.

In its recent IDC MarketScape: Global SD-WAN Infrastructure 2021 Vendor Assessment report, IDC said Aryaka offers a single subscription price that includes its Aryaka Network Access Point (ANAP) —a device available in multiple sizes with zero-touch temporary capabilities— to connect. into the POPs. It also offers lifecycle management services, on-ramp in IaaS and SaaS clouds, optional security tools, and last-mile connectivity management.

Aryaka offers a range of security services from its POPs, as well as integrations with partners’ on-site security services. Its cloud-based SASE capabilities will increase as the company continues to integrate the Secucloud capabilities into its product line, IDC said.

On the side of challenges, while Aryaka has strong technology and services integrations, the company’s platform may not be suitable for customers who want to configure or manage SD-WAN themselves or those who are not looking for managed SD-WAN, IDC. declared. IDC stated, Aryaka’s range of ANAP devices has fewer user-configurable options compared to vendors with road heritage.

SmartConnect EZ and SmartConnect Pro will be available in the first quarter of 2022, while Prime EZ will be available for Beta deployments by January 2022. AppAssure will be available to all customers by January 2022.
