Cisco Doubles Down on Managed Services, Fast-Growing Route to Market

Cisco is accelerating its investment in enabling partners to offer their solutions as managed services.

Enabling partners to provide Cisco-managed services has become a major focus of the network giant’s investments in the channel. Cisco is doubling down to promote managed services provided by partners because they are the fastest growing opportunity from the road to market (RTM).

Not only do managed services offer potential for future growth, Cisco has found that they have become among the most profitable. Global channel leader Oliver Tuszik highlighted Cisco’s accelerated service management at a briefing with media and analysts this week.

“The products sold in the managed services model [are] even bigger than our overall [product growth], which is a very important thing by the way, as we believe this part will last, but the type of product on pure infrastructure resale could come down, ”Tuszik said.

According to a study commissioned by Cisco, managed services represent a 45 percent chance of RTM. The company also predicts that by 2025, its total addressable market (TAM) for managed services will be $ 113 billion.

Oliver Tuszik is one of more than 100 top speakers at the Channel Partners Conference & amp; Top Expo / SME. Register now to join the 6,500 participants, April 11-14. You can also work with more than 300 key technology service providers and distributors.

Tuszik said sales growth in managed services now exceeds the overall revenue growth achieved by Cisco partners. In the last quarterly earnings reported, total provisions with partners rose 27% year-over-year. However, revenue from partner-managed services grew by 31% and among SMEs by 32%.

The fact that SMEs are accepting managed services is a big win, Tuszik said.

“Where a lot of companies have said that managed services are nothing for smaller customers and our smaller partners, the opposite is happening and we are investing a lot in the segment,” he said.

“It’s remarkable,” Zagury said. “When you look at this opportunity from the road to the market, it is also very crucial to switch to a service as a service, as the best way to achieve a result right now is through a managed service. But as soon as you start adding a power model, as soon as you start adding a cloud-like delivery experience, you suddenly offer a managed service as a service. ”

Cisco has created and expanded its catalog of services. Also, a company can now measure the performance of partners and invest in those who are successful.

“We have over 400 new partner providers and we have 20% more investment based on memory understanding,” Zagury said.

Zagury said the Cisco platform enables a managed services strategy. The company already has the technology of multi-lease architecture as its basis, she pointed out. Cisco is now working with its business units so that everyone is ready for managed services, Zagury explained.

“We have actually unlocked an affiliate investment fund and doubled our investment in it to coordinate some activities with our partner providers,” she said.

Cisco also has more than 100 co-selling projects to create new services in different regions, she added.

“These are 100 new offers that will be included in our partner catalogs to be sold together with our partners,” Zagury said.

Zagury also spoke about a framework developed by Cisco called the Minimum Requirements for Feasible Partners (MVPR).

“It’s about ensuring that it’s multi-tenant by nature, that we have standard APIs [and] that we have the ability to export data to partner data lakes,” Zagury said. “We browsed our entire portfolio and really took a look…
