From Indiana DNR
Mr. Sam, thank you for your comments. I wasn't around when the online report system was developed, but yes, it is out dated. Unfortunately, it takes time and money to change things and with all the
talk about slow economic times, things get prioritized.
The online fishing reports happens to be a low priority for updating the technology. The state park and forestry properties are doing us (fish and wildlife) a favor by updated their reports online, but if their boss
doesn't think it is a priority for them, then I guess it doesn't get done. We remind them each year how important it is, but I guess that doesn't always work. I think a lot of them tend to just update the bottom section of the report, and not each species section. So that is why you may see them catching bass, but at the bottom it says it is frozen over. We really don't have the man power to consistently update fishing reports. I think the public is better off accessing fishing
forums so they can ask people for up to date information and get it quickly, but that is my opinion.
Thank you again for your comments, andwho knows, we may have a better system in place sometime soon.
Thanks Kevin Hoffman
