I agree with Brew, this time of year you can't beat crawdad's. I always threaded them on a hook similar to how you would thread on a nightcrawler's. Blue Cat can't pass them up if they are hungary and feeding. Also another good bait this time of year for cat's are grasshopper's. You can gather them late night after the dew has fallen, grasshoppers will move to the top of the plant's, and when wet from the dew at night they will hardly jump. Use to gather them in a old milk jug, and keep them in the fridge if they are kept just above freezing they will last for days, same with crawdad's. 7653497606 is the old number. I just live 1/2 mile of so up the rail road tracks from Judy's bait barn. Havn't been in there since last summer but will go check it out this week. Wasn't sure if they were open anymore or not. Miss them old fella's sitting around and talking about fishing here and there. Now to hear their storys I got to go to the VFW or the Moose LOL  iiio

I've never used softcraws. How do you put em on a hook?

I always take the hook through the tail and thread it through the body. I bring it out just where the tail section ends. Then give it a hlaf twist and thread it back through the head and out. The barb stays close to the head that way but does not iinterfere with the hookset. They are great and you never know what you are going to catch on them.

Do you have a phone number for there  ? I might give him a call to see if he can get in any softcraws.
