A guided kayak tour on Patoka Lake, June 23, will take paddlers to a beautiful rock quarry and waterfall and offers the chance to see beavers, bald eagles and other wildlife.
The event is free and open to the public.
Visitors should meet the Patoka Lake naturalist at the Patoka Lake visitors center to car caravan to the Little Patoka boat ramp. The caravan will leave promptly at 8:30 a.m. EDT.
Boats will launch at 9:30 a.m. EDT, and the tour will last two hours.
Visitors should bring their own boat, personal flotation device, sunscreen, snacks and refreshments. An annual non-motorized boat launch permit is also required and will be sold at the event for $5. The permits are also available for purchase at the Patoka property office between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m.
