The more I think about it, the more I'm sure it was Cherry Kool-Aid flavored chx breasts.  They were REALLY red, like dark, primary read.

I'm gonna give that a try next time I'm out there and see how that goes.

in retrospect, I might have been using the wrong sized/type hooks.  I was using #4 & #5 circle hooks, probably not the best idea, but we were planning on going bottom setup (i.e. leaders with sliding weights resting on the bottom) until we saw the huge success the bobbers were having at about 6' deep.

I have never heard of strawberry or cherry flavored chicken breast. Anyone else ever used this stuff.

Westside Bait and Tackle sells alot of the pre-flavored strawberry and cherry chicken breasts so it must work pretty good.

They stocked it yesterday.  Went out with the boy around 7am we got there.  Fished until about 3.  We caught one 4 lbs cat on shrimp and nightcrawler bobber setup.

The guys next to us got 25 in 3 hours....made me look bad.  :D  But it was a fun time.  Can't wait to go back when it's actually warmer and not 43+raining....

So they're biting at Hubbards.  The guys with the MESS of catches were using either strawberry or Cherry flavored chicken breasts.

We also say a HUGE carp get pulled in around 2pm, didn't see what they were using though or what the final weight was.

COME ON SPRING!!!!

Hubbards is open !!
  They have been letting people in to fish, and they are offically opening this weekend.
They said some nice carp have been caught. Most anglers fishing there are carp fishing and very few catfishing anglers have tried their luck.
 The baitshop has a limited supply of bait. They said they had nightcrawlers, and a few skipjack left. If you want to try and use live bait you'll need to find it somewhere else. Their bait supplies are limited because it's so early in the season.
