I have not fished this spot yet but plan to soon in the next couple weeks if the water is not to high. My question is looking at the google earth map. Is the wide area just down stream from the stream a good hole, I mean is there a decent depth of water, or should a person fish were it gets narrower?  Thanks  iiio

Roy...you need to be fishing about 100 yards upstream in that corner. BONEHEAD!!!!!  llk llk

Up in the corner is vey shallow, no more than 2 foot deep or just inches during the summer. About 50 yards up from where I was that day is where the flat drops off and the channel cuts across from the other side.Someone was already fishing in that spot on that day. They did not catch anything as they were using chicken livers so the good spot went to waste.
I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.

I have never caught any cats there but I did catch a 15" and a 17" spotted bass last October there which I thought was respectable for river bass. Over the winter they did bulldoze and level some of the huge rocks to make more shore fishing. Here are some pictures from the bank.

I wonder how much deeper the ocean would be without sponges.

That is a great spot!!! I have caught alot of fish over 25lbs from this spot and no matter how many people fish it, it never seems to wear out. Here is a Google Earth image of it:

White river between Gosport and Spencer.

This is an area just off the road where people fish from the bank. Its not a great big area, but is known for some big blues and flatheads. Carp and channel cats.
