being heavilly involved in 2-way radio services for a number of years,if someone is determined enough...they can listen to all wireless and cell phones!!!a very popular 800-900 mhz scanner, can be "opened up" by snipping 1 diode!this will not affect the scanners' performance...but will allow you to hear cell-phones.then ,keep in mind the larger and higher the receiving antenna...the larger the area that can be heard.many amateur radios with multi-bands are also capable of receiving both cell and 900mhz/2.4ghb/2.6 ghb, with or without modifications!believe it or not, baby monitors are the simplest way to listen due to the broad receiver, and you can buy all fairly cheap:900mhz/2.4ghb/ghb!!!if you're going to go wireless...be careful with the content of your calls!

Nothing to do with the website here, but I think people who use wireless phones (not cell phones) should be warned ! You are heard over the air waves !
I accidently found a list of all wireless phones and fequencies the other day. I checked them out on my computer  and police scanner, and sure enough, I can listen in on my nieghbors.
I don't typically do that, but I was surprised that my cheap police scanner could pull them up. And YES. anyone out there can moniter your phone conversations. This is in the 900ht.  range.
For me, I'm getting a different phone !! I do like my privacy, although you can still talk to someone thats using a wireless phone, and still be heard !!
